A comforting Cajun Sausage Pasta dish that’s quick to prepare and packed with creamy, spicy, and savory flavors, perfect for weeknight dinners or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 1 lb smoked sausage (sliced)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 1 bell pepper (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or pepper jack)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, cook the sliced sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  3. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the pot. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.
  4. Stir in Cajun seasoning and diced tomatoes, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the heavy cream and cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the cooked pasta and sausage back to the pot, mixing everything together.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Feel free to swap the smoked sausage with andouille sausage for extra spice. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
