A delightful twist on traditional Chicken Cordon Bleu with succulent chicken breasts, savory ham, and creamy Swiss cheese, all crispy on the outside.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter
  • Toothpicks or kitchen twine

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
  3. Lay a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each chicken breast, then roll them up tightly. Secure them with toothpicks or kitchen twine.
  4. Season the flour with salt and pepper. Dredge each chicken roll in the flour, coating it well.
  5. Dip the floured rolls into the beaten eggs, then coat them in breadcrumbs.
  6. In a skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat.
  7. Cook the chicken rolls until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Transfer the rolls to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  9. Remove the toothpicks or twine before serving. Enjoy your Chicken Blue Ribbon!

Notes

Feel free to swap in turkey or provolone. Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
