Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix!
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. While the bread is baking, mix the 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon together in a small bowl.
  8. Once baked, allow the bread to cool for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan.
  9. Roll the warm bread in the cinnamon sugar mixture before slicing and serving. Enjoy warm with coffee!
