A comforting and easy recipe for juicy oven baked chicken breasts, perfect for weeknight dinners or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter (diced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness of about 0.5 to 0.75 inches.
  3. Rub olive oil all over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well-coated.
  4. Mix together brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Coat the chicken evenly with the seasoning mix.
  6. Arrange the seasoned chicken in the casserole dish, placing a slice of butter on top of each piece.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Turn on the broiler for an additional 1-3 minutes if you prefer a golden finish.

Notes

For a variation, substitute chicken thighs for extra moisture and flavor. Marinating the chicken the night before will enhance the taste.
